Weald and Downland Museum, Singleton - Gateway Project

The Weald and Downland Museum commissioned a set of modern building, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, to form a new entrance gallery, shop, café and meeting spaces.   The main entrance building has an Oak portal frame and the gallery and café are

formed of cross laminated timber panel

construction.

Cooper & Withycombe worked with the project Architects to create the structural design for the buildings.  We also undertook the civil engineering design which included remodelling the terraced hillside car park to provide a new access road, footpath and drainage.
